香港HKCT 電控永磁吸盤系統的基本工作原理就是利用不同永磁材料的不同特性，通過電控系統對內部磁路的分布進行控制與轉換，使永磁磁場在系統內部自身平衡，對外表征為消磁（DEMAG），即：放松狀態；或釋放到吸盤工作表面，對外表征為充磁（MAG），即：夾緊狀態。

電永磁系統主要應用的三大領域：
（1）安全、強勁：電控永磁系統在工作中不需要電能，只靠永磁吸力吸緊工件，避免了電磁系統在突然斷電和拖線損壞時磁力喪失而出現工件脫落的危險。可預知的永磁夾緊力非常強勁，每平方厘米吸力可達16公斤力以上，而且恒定不變，更不隨時間的延長而衰減，有極大的安全性。
（2）實用、高效：電控永磁系統的使用方法非常簡便快捷，夾具系統內部沒有運動部件，可靠耐用，無須維修，實用性強。電控器只有三個按鈕，操作簡便快捷,消磁與充磁的轉換過程只需1~2秒鐘時間，裝夾與松開的效率非常高,比起常規夾具提高了數倍的裝夾效率。另外，根據用戶的需要還可配備控制器。由于工作中不需電能供給，夾具沒有任何發熱現象，避免電磁系統帶來的熱變形，可大大提高零件的加工精度。
（3）經濟、環保：由于電控永磁系統只是在充磁和消磁過程的1秒鐘內使用電能，工作中不使用任何能源而能產生安全、強勁、高效的力量，省去了傳統機械、液壓、氣壓夾具系統中的電、液、氣路及蓄能器的配置，避免油、氣的泄露及夾緊螺栓的疲勞損傷和由此帶來的不安全的隱患，同時節省了能源，既經濟，又環保。 在CNC加工中心機床上使用電控永磁夾具，對比常規夾具還有很多獨特的優勢，如：可充分利用機床工作臺面和行程，工件尺寸可與臺面一樣大，甚至超出工作臺面；切削過程中刀具無任何干涉，一次裝夾可實現五面加工，提高加工效率，避免多次裝夾帶來的定位誤差；夾緊力分布在工件底部表層（10毫米以內），工件上部為自然舒展狀態，加工完成并松開裝夾后工件無應力反彈，能保證較高的加工精度；使用自動調平裝置后，支撐點多且穩固，夾緊力均勻分布與所有支撐接觸點，切削震動極小，可大大降低由于切削震動給刀具和機床造成的損害，從而提高刀具和機床使用的效率和壽命。
